September 2025

Melanie Panarotto will join our group as a lab manager. Melanie earned her PhD at the Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, specialising in in vitro reconstitution and single-molecule imaging. Her expertise will be highly valuable to the lab, and we look forward to welcoming her!

Sonia Mantas spends her summer internship with us, helping to develop some of our biofilm-related projects. Welcome! We had a great summer lunch with the group in the downtown of Donostia.

Irene Toledo joins our group as a PhD student shared with Ivan Sasseli (CFM-Donostia), welcome! Irene will work on de novo design of antibacterial peptide-based hydrogels.​

Sofia Ainatzi joins our lab, warm welcome! After completing her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen, Sofia is interested in applying her mass-spectrometry expertise to our research on peptidoglycan synthesis.
